Recently, in a podcast interview, I was asked what a perfect day would look like for ‘artist jess graham’ and I gave an answer without much thought, only to reflect on the question later and I decided what my real answer would be, and wanted to share it here because I think it is quite telling.

My perfect day is stumbling upon an opossum, out for a stroll and having the time and the stealth to quietly follow, watching its little butt jiggle with every step, to learn where it goes and what it does in its day (or more likely, night). That’s a perfect day. Learning about a little creature’s life while living my own freely, soaking in all the surrounding inspiration for projects as I do so.
